FlickrEdit is a free and open source Flickr backup app and system utility, developed by Sunkencity for Windows.
The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below.
A desktop-based Flickr management application
FlickrEdit is a Java Desktop application that allows you to display and edit your photos in a variety of ways. It also allows you to download/backup or upload your photos to and from Flickr. FlickrEdit is written in Java and it uses flickrj framework to access Flickr.
Features of FlickrEdit
- Backup Title, Description, Tags and Copyright and store them into the IPTC header of the images.
- Backup your Flickr Photos and Sets.
- Delete photos or Sets
- Display your Flickr Photos and Sets.
- Display your Not in Set, Recent, Favorites, Contacts and Group photos.
- Edit Photo and Set info, add comments to Photos and Sets.
- Rotate photos
- Search photos based on date and tag.
- Switch between multiple Flickr users.
- Upload new photos to Flickr (including asynchronous upload).
- View a photo or selected photos slideshow.
Compatibility and License
FlickrEdit has been released under a BSD license on the Windows operating system from PC utilities. This means you can download, install, run and share this program freely without any restrictions. Unlike GPL software, the source code isn't necessarily available.
What version of Windows can FlickrEdit run on?
FlickrEdit can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems with no dedicated 64-bit download provided.
